One of the instruments to re-integrate people on work disability in the labour market, are the “re-integration trajectories at the employer” in which the occupational physician of the employer investigates whether the worker can resume work at his original employer (possibly by making changes to working conditions). These re-integration trajectories exist since 2017. This study will attempt to assess their causal effect on labour market outcomes. This can include re-employment at the current employer (as is the objective of the instrument), employment at other employers and longer-term outcomes (including the probability to re-enter work disability) while also considering other possible outcomes (unemployment, welfare, etc.) and taking into account possible unintended negative effects such as the earlier dismissal of the employee.
